Sea kayak family excursions
Family-kayaking tours are provided for children with their parents in double kayaks. Young children (3-5 years old) sit in the middle cockpit. Older children sit in the front cockpit, while one of the parents sits at the back of the kayak to maximize paddling efficiency and safety.
All sea-kayak tours include instructions, high-quality kayaks and paddles, water-proof clothing if required, dry bags, as well as the services of a well-trained guide.
Paddle jackets and pants are provided, (even for the 3 years old kids) including water shoes and gloves if required. If you wish to swim in the Saguenay in the summertime, we suggest that you do so in L’Anse-St-Jean.

Departure from L’Anse-Saint-Jean. Sea kayak basics and safety training. We navigate the coast of the Saguenay. Then we continue on through the fjord and its many coves. Your guide will adjust the sea kayaking family tour with your hability and confidence. Kids under 6 years old will be seated in the middle cockpit if the kayak. During your outing, you may catch sight of a seal, because the seals love to follow kayaks. Living on the fjord, at the edge of the water, in complete tranquility is the best way to discover the savage beauty of the Saguenay-Saint-Laurent water park. * The itinerary may vary, depending on the tide and the wind direction. |

Then we continue on through the fjord and its many coves. And here the splendor of the fjord opens up before us with a glorious view of the majestic Capes Liberté, Égalité and Fraternité. This enchanting vision will leave you with a lasting impression of this magnificent coastline. During your outing, you may catch sight of a seal, because the seals love to follow kayaks. Day 1: Departure around one o’clock from L’Anse-Saint-Jean. Sea kayak basics and safety training. We navigate around l’îlet Saint-Jean, nesting grounds of the amusing spotted sandpiper. Then we continue on through the fjord and its many coves. And here the splendor of the fjord opens up before us with a glorious view of the majestic Capes Liberté, Égalité and Fraternité. This enchanting vision will leave you with a lasting impression of this magnificent coastline. We spend the night on the banks of the fjord at L’Anse de Tabatière. On the summer hotter days, we take a swim at L’Anse de Tabatière. So bring along your bathing suit! Day 2: After a hearty breakfast, we are back on the water. During your outing, you may catch sight of a seal, because the seals love to follow kayaks. Living on the fjord, at the edge of the water, in complete tranquility is the best way to discover the savage beauty of the Saguenay-Saint-Laurent water park. We stop for a short while to take dinner. After all this fresh air and ocean breezes, we make our leisurely return to L’Anse-Saint-Jean for 3:00 pm. * For families with children 11 years and over |
Equipment needed and included for short tours
You are planning to join us for a short excursion, so here is a list of material you will need.
INCLUDED
- Water proof jackets are provided for all our guests (starting at 3 years old)
- We provide water shoes and “pooguies” to keep your feet and hands warm if needed.
- We lend you a 5 liters dry bag for your camera.
WHAT TO BRING
- shorts, t-shirt
- Thermal underwear (top/bottom), NO COTTON. (June/Sept.: two tops/bottoms.)
- Sun glasses with a rope!
- sport hat for the day (June & sept.: warm hat and gloves for the evening). We have “pooguies” (warm-ups for hands) for the day.
- Sun screan lotion
- Buggs lotion . (try to avoid to wear black or dark blue in your choice of clothes!)
- some dry clothes for your way home
- water bottles
- personal prescriptions
- And don't forget your smile!
